Cerebellar Tonsillar Ectopia
I just had an MRI of my brain done about a month ago, and the report stated that they found 6mm of cerebellar tonsillar ectopia.  I have no idea what this is, and have not been able to find anything about it online.  I had the MRI because I have been having persistent nerve problems and occasional headaches.  I have had tons of other tests done, including a visit to Cleveland Clinic and everything else was normal.  Could this be the cause of all the nerve problems I have been having?  If anyone knows anything about this, please tell me everything you know in detail.  Thank you!!

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Please read the welcome message for a bit more info on chiari as well as our Health Pages.

There is much to inform u on, but after reading the info u may have other questions.

Has ur dr rx'd more tests?...more MRI's....do u know if they looked for a syrinx or tethered cord?

There are several other conditions related to chiari that should be looked for and ruled out to know exactly what is going on.

Shane99 will give u more info.

I hope u will post updates on ur progress and share ur chiari experiences with us.
