I recently posted about my son's issues after wrestling camp. He saw his doctor who called the NS, and we were told to NS to see if he wanted MRI prior to appt. He does not want an MRI, which suprises me. I asked the person if they knew why dr did not want one. She said that he felt it was "activity related" and was not needed. She stated she was just telling me what the dr said. The thing is that we were told once the surgery is done, if all went well, he could return to everything he did prior to surgery. I also checked back with them, specifically about wrestling, they said he is at no greater risk than anyone in the general population for problems with this.
He went to wrestling camp on Fri night and on Sat mid day he called saying something wasn't right. He reported lower and mid back pain, headache, and bright light (he has described this as not being able to see anything for a couple seconds except for a very bright light). These were problems he had prior to surgery, which largely disappeared after surgery. He did still have some lower back pain and had PT for this.
Am I whacked here? Jumping the gun? Would anyone else think the NS that did the surgery would WANT an MRI if some symptoms returned??? Any thoughts on this?
It's really bothering me. I plan to call the general doc tomorrow to tell him this, but I'm sure he will say to wait and see what NS says. (sigh)
Looks like we may be back on the merry go round again......
