Admitted to hospital

Got admitted Wednesday night, waiting to see if they up my surgery date.

Really wanted to make it to 04/06, but my legs stopped working for me.
I can feel them just can't get them to move. And still trying to get the headaches under control.

Dawn :'(

Glad that things are coming together for you & that they can do your surgery tomorrow.  So sorry that all of this had to happen first, but sometimes it works out for a reason.
I will be praying for you, too.  I hope that the surgery gives you relief.  It is a long road, so hang in there.  We each have different results...be patient and hopeful.
I'm sure you'll have a lot of different feelings & emotions churning in you head today...but just find comfort & peace in knowing that we will be praying for you & routing for you during your recovery.  And the people here understand what you're going through.  We're now going to tell you that it is just stress :)

Hi everyone,

Looks like everything is a go. Surgery is scheduled for, tomorrow, Tuesday, 03/13 @ 1pm. If they have any morning cancels, I'll get bumped up.

Pretty sure we asked every question possible this morning.

Now just updating everyone, while my husband drives all over downtown Orlando, to get all if my paperwork updated for work, change the date need to do it all over. His employer was much easier and just made the date changes themselves.

This forum has been such a blessing in preparing me. Being able to learn, vent, and everything has really helped to put my mind at ease. Thank you so much!!

Dawn :)

Well they have cleared me for surgery Tuesday, now I just need to talk to the Neurosurgeon office.

The neurologist that has only known me 3 days now, is trying to talk me out if surgery, he doesn't think Chiari is the cause and went so far as to say, " not saying these symptoms are not real, 'all in your head', but have you thought about seeing a psychologist, you may have some underlining stress that could be causing your headaches.

As for my legs, he doesn't know either, well I guess that is 1 NL I won't be setting up any follow-up consults with.

I do have a degenerated disc at L5-S1, that I have been dealing with it for 10 years now, but the hospital NL, doesn't seem to think that is causing any of my problems either.

Gotta wonder what he does know?

I have been improving with the PT, and made it out of my room and a few doors down. They know about Tuesday's surgery and said they will be working with me each day it is funny that I am actually happier to see them, then the NL.

My nurses get a laugh each time the techs panick about the heart monitor, I have learned not to put my tens unit next to it, apparently it really messes up the signal. Thought my heart rate was 140. Just now the nurse came to check on me, the techs were not getting any signal, in no my heart stopped and I am just laying in bed typing an update. Oops I killed another battery, they just changed it yesterday, that was quick.

Thanks for all the thoughts and prayers.

Dawn :)

Made it through the last 2 MRIs, hate how they put me in more pain, but maybe the Neuro unit will have the answers they are looking for.

They have at least found a better pain management cycle of medicine, I keeping my food in my stomach now, that was really aggravating my headaches. And I got my 1st walker lesson got from bed to chair with assistance, talk about baby steps.

Thank you all for the continued prayers.

Yes Selma, my husband Steven should be able to post updates, if and when I am unable to.

Dawn :)

Thank you for all if your thoughts and prayers.

2 MRIs down, brain & cervical, no changes, good news since they were looking for signs of a stroke.

Tonight they will MRI the rest of my spine.

Surgery is bumped up to this Tuesday, so long as the neuro unit clears me of any surprises.
