Progress of surgery

Went in on Tuesday and her surgery lasted 4 and a half hours.. Our Lady of Lake has a wonderful computer system that keeps you updated. She was in recovery for about 1 hour and then moved to ICU in peds. They from the start had her on medicine to prevent her getting sick to her stomach and pushed her not eating till next morning to prevent her getting sick. I think that helped she never got sick to her stomach. They had her on Morphin but the pain was hard to get untop of till around 1 am then she was at peace.. She was in Ped ICU for 2 days not because she needed it but they where waiting for a open bed  in childrens hospital we where lucky even though she is 18 they treated her like a child that she is..The doctor said whenever she wanted to be release from hospital she could she chose to stay one more night and we made the trek home this morning. She is in a small amount of pain moved her bed into the front room. Her incission looks amazing and she has had no numbness or those types of headaches from before we are hopeful and eager but willing to take our time for her to heal for a brighter future with no pain

Went for 2 weeks post op dr visit.. Everything looks good totally off meds no pain! She drove to corner market.. She is feeling good!! just tires very easy. Dr also said she was on high dose of steriods after surgery could be way she is having mood changes!! She sees him before she goes back to college in Janaury. He also told her he was ok with her playing soccer since she was in more danger to life threatening injury previous  surgery. He said yes there is a soft spot but he felt she should go for it.. That driving car or multi of things could be a risk he said enjoy

Hi...yeah I called the feeling tremors but my dr called it vibrations...was she RX'd valium?...I was and it helped when this healing process began.

It did not last long and the meds really cut the episodes short.

The change in mood is expected as well since the brainstem is involved......it is emotion and balance.

So glad everything is going as well as it is.
Godspeed
