Dog Dander RAST Test Questions

We were thinking of getting a Sheltie, but decided to have our daughter tested for dog allergies first.  Her dog dander IGE score was 31.20 and she had a Dog Dander RAST Class of IV.

We have heard from many Sheltie owners with allergies that they actually have less problems with Shelties as the pet dander is trapped by all of their fur.  The dog would strictly be kept downstairs (my daughter's room is upstairs) and we have primarily tile flooring.  

How conclusive is this test?  I have read where different breeds affect people differently.  Should we just resign ourselves that Jessica will never have any other pets besides her hamsters?

My 4 year old son has almost the exact same levels of dog allergies, along with cat and horse and everything outdoor, We had a miniture pommeranian and were told if we kept him shaved and in a different area of the house then maybe it wouldnt be a problem but we ended up having to send our pomm to grandmas to live because even without any interaction with the dog he seemed to have an ongoing secondary sinus infection, once we removed the dog from the home and cleaned carpets ( attempting to remove all dander hair and skin particles) his sinuses have completely cleared. I am such a dog lover as is my son and we have opted for a fish tank!  If I were you I would do some challenge testing. Challenge testing is kind of putting her in an inviroment with the pet on a regular basis for a couple of weeks and see if you see any changes in her coughing or sniffling, my son would sniffle and sniffle without any weezing at first than began to get frustrated cause even though he did not have a cold could barely breath out of his nose! this worsened at night. so sometimes it takes seeing for yourself what causes come from the results? just a thought I was very suprised by the outcome!
