hereditary colon polyps possible cancer

by onthego3, Sep 08, 2009 10:08PM
Hi all,

In the last year I have had digestive issues (heartburn, change in bowel movements) that have lead me to seek care with a GI doc.  I'm scheduled for a colonoscopy and EGD in a week.  My big question is my brother (younger) at the age of 20+ (10 yrs ago) had a colonoscopy and he had two polyps, 1 benign the other precancerous.  Now that I'm having these changes in bowel movements and some stomach pain I am concerned and would like to hear some other stories that are similar to mine.  I would just like to know how many people have had siblings, especially at such a young age, with similar stories.  Let me say that I'm 33 and have been in otherwise good health, not overweight, and exercise fairly regularly.

Any info would help me be prepared.

thanks
I
