Bleeding bump on bottom of mouth

Bleeding bump on bottom of mouth

I have Mixed Connective Tissue Diseas, which includes Sjogren's Syndrome. I have been having a lot of problems swallowing and my mouth hurt really bad under my tongue when my mouth was producing much saliva. One day I was having really bad problems with my mouth being dry and not producing saliva. The bottom of my mouth hurt really bad. The next day I noticed a bump where it was hurting. The bump went down over the next couple of days. I went to an ENT specialist and he said that i have lingual tonsilitis. He said the bump under my tongue was a gland and didn't say anything else. I've had it for about 5 days now and today it is bigger, hurts, and has been bleeding. I don't know if it could be a stone in the gland? or cancer? or something else? What do you think it is? Do you think its serious?

It sounds like it is related to the salivary gland in some way. A blocked duct or an irritation from your dry mouth. It does not seem to have the symptoms of oral cancer. I would highly recommend that you see an oral surgeon.
