Electric toothbrush

Electric toothbrush

I recently purchased a Sonicare toothbrush.  Is it safe to use in a mouth on sensitive gums which had been irritated from prior brushing habits?  The product website and manual seems to make many claims to be clinically proven to arrest and reduce gingivitis, and be safe on periodontal pockets and dental implants.  It sounds superior to a manual brush?  Is this the case?

I do believe that a sonicare is superior to a manual toothbrush if used properly.  It is safe to use with "sensitive gums" as you say.  I feel it is definitely a good investment and recommend these types of toothbrushes to almost all my patients.
