cysts

I had a glandular odontogenic cyst which is extremely rare.  My orthodontist had to remove part of my jaw a year ago.  He put in a titanium plate & then did some bone grafting.  We were hoping to have implants put in this week but the bone was too soft & he also found another spot which he sent in for a biopsy.  Because this is so rare there is not much information on how to treat this & there is a 30% chance of reoccurence.  I haven't had a chance to ask what's next in my  treatment, I will be going back in in 2 weeks.  I will ask him these questions too but would like another opinion.  My questions are: Most of the time this cyst is only found in the bottom jaw so if it returns what are the chances it will stop there?  Also, is there such a thing as a total bottom jaw replacement or transplant?

I don't do jaw surgeries so I can't really answer.  You may want to ask the oral surgeon in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery section
