face swealing after wisdom teeth removal

i got my wisdom teeth pulled 3 days ago,all 4 of them,on the third day my face is so swolen that it hurts to move talk,or swallow.it dont seem like its going down any,is this normal,and how do you know if you have dry socket.im taking penesillian 500 mg and perkacote.please help sorry about the spelling errors.

Dear bigphil96b, It is not unusual for swelling to occur after the extraction  of four wisdom teeth. I would suggest that if the swelling doesn't go down that you see the doctor that extracted the teeth. Dry sockets are more common  in the lower jaw. There is acute pain (throbbing) that sometimes radiates into your ear. The cause is unknown, but the area should treated with a medicated dressing.
