permanent wisdom teeth extraction swelling

Hi,

I got my wisdom teeth removed at the end of summer break of 2010, it's now about a month till the start of summer break 2011. I got all 4 removed and my cheeks were very swollen for a good 2 weeks and then the swelling slowly reduced. The left side still seems slightly swollen and it's really bothering me. I thought if i gave it a lot of time, it would go away, but it hasn't. Is this permanent? What can I do??

That's a long time and the swelling should've gone away awhile ago.  You may want to go back to the surgeon (or dentist) to see if there's anything that they can do but I don't think there's a whole lot.  It may be that the cheek has filled in the space of the missing teeth and now your cheeks are slightly larger and feel more swollen. Is there a firmness in your cheek?
