Abasion on my penis

Abasion on my penis

Hello – thank you for taking the time to read my post. I'm 29 male. Roughly 5 weeks ago I was showering and I noticed I had a rash on my arms. Being overly anxious about STDs I then checked my penis in which time I saw I had small abrasion (maybe a sore?) the size of a pencil eraser on the right side of my penis. The abrasion didn’t hurt/burn/tingle/itch/anything. I never saw any red patches, bumps or blisters. It healed in about ten days.

This morning I noticed (I check my penis daily – anxiety!) a similar abrasion on the right side of my penis in roughly the same spot as the last one. Would never have noticed if I didn’t always check. I can't feel anything, even if i touch it.

Background
Back in November of 2008 I had something similar on the left side of my penis. I have been tested for both HSV1 and 2 back in 08 after a questionable unprotected contact with a girl I didn’t know. After 11 weeks and a day from the questionable encounter my test results were both negative [HSV 1 IGG: 0.07 (Negative) HSV 2 IGG: 0.02 (Negative)]. I am sexually active but pretty limited with the amount of girls I sleep with or receive oral sex from. I run and wear spandex under my shorts. I sweat a lot. My penis is not very big and often retracts/bunches up when I run. Does this sound like herpes or some kind of irritation from sweating/running?

Thanks again

Solitary penile abrasion with no other objective or subjective clinical elements is a rather nonspecific status. You mentioned rash on your hands but with no description of it. Still, I will try to answer your questions (based on information provided):

- Penile abrasions can be caused by friction (from sexual intercourse, from wearing tight clothes, etc.), and aggravated by sweat as irritant.

- Episode of acute genital HSV infection, especially first one, presents with many clinical signs and symptoms including blisters, pustules, ulcers, accompanied with pain, itching, tender, enlarged local lymph nodes, etc. Therefore, your description (in combination with test results) does not sound much like HSV infection.
