Continuous Rash

by Bushkey, Jun 02, 2001 12:00AM
For about a month I have had a rash on my legs, trunk and arms that looks like a line of small hives, they are very itchy!!! only lasts for about 5 or 10 minutes... and goes away with Benedryl Lotion.  They do not come out on any exposed skin... I do have discoid lupus, what could cause a rash like that... I am on Lopressor 50 2x a day( for about 10 years) and Diovan.  This rash developed before the Diovan....  Thank you for your feedback.

Sounds like hives, which are transitory itchy bumps that come and go at random.  Discoid lupus causes long-lasting reddish brown, depressed spots.  Drug reactions would not be intermittent.  Most hives come from nothing at all.  I would just use the Benadryl lotion for symptomatic relief.  In time, the hives should just go away for no particular reason.

Best.
