Herpes / STD ?

Herpes / STD ?

I have had sex numerous times using condom and close sexual contact with a woman from April-November who has now told me she has tested positive for Herpes. In June, I had itching and tingling genital area, sore tip of penis, tender urethra after urination so I went to doctor. I was given an anti-biotic for an infection diagnosed as NGU or prostate infection. Tested NO for Gonorrhea, Syphills, Chlamydia; did not test for Herpes because of no obvious signs or reason to at time per doctor recommendation. Whatever I had went away for most part, but tingling has come and gone as well as some urethra irritation from June-October.

Last four weeks, I have had a) constant tingling and itching in genital area, except for a day or two on three occasions, b) pimples that have come and gone on upper thighs, butt and stomach, some look like ingrown hairs or boil-like, others are very small bright red bloody looking but neither hurt, c) blochy rash in pubic hair area d) sensation in urethra that runs from mid-urethra to penis tip that feels like a crackling spasm inside my penis; e) slight burning/irritated feeling inside penis before and after unrinating but not during (sometimes feels like a cool burning when urinating after waiting/holding), f)rectal bleeding that seems like hemorrhoids with lots of itching and pain that has come and gone on a couple of occasions and g) very tired with headache every 7-10 days for a day or two which is unlike me.

Herpes? Other STD? Latex condom allergy? Skin disorder? Perhaps something more serious or I am too mental at this point.  Unsure what to think or do, but I am inclinded to get Herpes test because of disclosure and existing 20+ year relationship with another woman. Please advise.

I think you have a little bit of irritation and folliculitis and a lot of anxiety over herpes.  None of the symptoms you describe sound anything like herpes.  Getting a herpes II blood test sounds like a good idea, though you may want to repeat it in a few months even if it's negative now, as I expect it will be, since it's a bit soon after theoretical exposure for the test to turn positive.  Having a doctor check the rashes you have out also seems prudent.

Take care.
