Oral HSV?

Hello,
As you no doubt can tell, I have a question about oral herpes. A little background... I performed oral sex on a girl I did not know very well (call it a one night stand). Within the next day or so, I started to feel sick (not really bad, but a bit sleepy and my neck was stiff), and my lips and chin began to tingle (a bit on my nose too). My lips got a bit dry the second day, but nothing a little chapstick couldn't fix. They also get a little red now, from time to time (typically when I eat something hot like a banana pepper). And once I woke up and the right side of my lower lip was swollen, but I put some ice on it and that went away. That's pretty much the extent of it... It's been 13 days now, and here I am, still with tingly lips/chin. And yet, I've got nothing even approaching a blister... I've read in other posts/forums that there "isn't" any "prodrome" for initial outbreaks; is this true? Is it normal for the tingly feeling to last so long before a blister develops? I had an appointment with my Doc (not really a doctor; more like his assistant, but that's all I could get on short notice) and they told me that they really couldn't say at that point whether it was or was not HSV. I am wondering though, is there anything else that one could acquire via oral sex that would have such symptoms?

Herpes is characterized by blisters. if it's a first attack (no prior exposure, the kind you would contract from the sexual encounter you describe), herpes appears as high fever, swollen glands, and a mouth full of ulcers. You don't have herpes on your lips. You have herpes on your mind. Your doctor should be able to corroborate this.
