Pimples on Scalp

Pimples on Scalp

I suffer from seborrheic dermatitis.  I use Capex shampoo and Clobetasol-Prop. when needed.  I noticed as my hair starts thining pimples on my scalp.  Not many one or two on the side and one on the top of my head.  They are a little more then pin head size and look a bit blood filled.  However, not all look this way.  They don't seem to go away.  For all I know I had them for many years.  I'm concerned about these pimples.  Are they normal?  Is it related to the SD?  How can they be treated?

Thanks

Some people get, either in addition to or instead of, pimples on the scalp rather than scaling or dandruff.  Technically, this is folliculitis rather than seborrheic dermatitis.  Cause is not known, though stress plays a role, in my experience.  I wouldn't call them normal, but they aren't serious.  I advise you not to pick at them, and to show them to a doctor for proper diagnosis and appropriate treatment.

Take care.
