Terrified about HIV rash low risk exposure

by Collegedude77, Jan 26, 2004 12:00AM
Hi Dr.

I really appreciate your reply. I went to a massage parlour a month back and recieved a handjob. I did not see the girl touch herself but she was nude. I am scared now as i saw a tiny group of sporadic red dots on my lower abdomen that stung to the touch. I put solarcaine on them and they subsided within a few hours and were gone the next day. I am really scared it could have been a viral HIV rash symptomatic of acute infection but the HIV hotline said no. I tested negative at 2.5 weeks which i know is to early. What do you think?

Thanks so much.

I think you are OK, and that you should skip massage parlors in the future.

The HIV hotline is right--the rash of HIV would be widespread and associated with a feeling of illness, etc.

To satisfy your anxiety, have another HIV test in a few months.

And avoid risky business.  Among other things, the subsequent anxiety isn't worth it.

Best.
