Waiting For Results On Biopsy?? SSC Possibility

Hello,   I recently had a growth removed off my scalp that looked like a wart but it didn't freeze off x 2 attempts.  It appeared 6mos ago but seemed to be a firm bump with crusted top.  

My doctor thinks it could actually be Sqaunous Cell Carcinoma.
I was told if my biopsy comes back it being maligant then they will refer me to a surgereon for wider margin clean up.

I would like to know if SSC usually stays local to the site and if it rarely spreads to other organs?

Anna:

Squamous cell carcinomas which arise on sun-damaged skin have less potential for spread than squamous cell cancers on the lip, or in internal organs like the lung.  Then again, the biopsy may show just a hypertrophic (thick) precancerous keratosis, common on the scalp.
