treat hidradenitis supperativa

question for the doctor


54 year old female, with:
diabetese , osteo arthritis, very thin, anxiety, no plans for children


suffering for 3 years,  other forums mention coloidal silver , 2 teaspoons at night( 20 ppm )
what is your opinion  of this treatment ?

The main goals of treatment of hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) should be to provide a high likelihood of cure with a low recurrence rate and long-term optimal quality of life. Medical management is recommended in early stages (antibiotics, corticosteroids, hormones, retinoids, immunosuppressants) whereas surgery should be performed as early as possible after the formation of abscesses, fistulas, scars, and sinus tracts. You haven’t shared much information about how severe your HS is, but since you have had it for 3 years already, you might be a good candidate for surgical care.

Colloidal silver products are marketed as dietary supplements with various health-related claims including anti-inflammatory effect. However, scientific data on safety and effectiveness of colloidal silver in treatment of Hydradenitis suppurativa is lacking.

Personally and professionally, I hope that reliable scientific/clinical information will be available to the public soon. It would be great to be able to recommend a safe and effective alternative to drugs and surgery (at least in early stages of HS if nothing else).
