-12 with retinal changes

Children age 12 years he has  high myopia -12 both eyes *** my last visit to the doctor advised me to do laser to both eyes because he noticed some changes in the retina and he said to the prevention of separation of the retina,  another doctor said  that the child's age is young and can be followed up every two months with some warnings

You may want to get a third opinion from another retina specialist to see how bad it is and whether preventive laser is necessary (very unusual for a 12 year old to be that bad).  You should also consult with a pediatric ophthalmologist to see if they could recommend something to decrease the rate at which the myopia is changing because -12 is a lot for a 12 year old.  Make sure he does not read for prolonged periods of time without relaxing his eyes and looking into the distance or closing his eyes for 5 minutes (every 25 minutes or so).  Good luck.
