Allergic to Acuvue Oasys?

Allergic to Acuvue Oasys?

Ive worn contacts for over 10 years, prescription is high -11.5. For the last 2 months, my eyes have been irritating me (burning sensation) and are red around the white part of the eye as well as slight yellowish bumps. My eyes do not itch nor do i have any abnormal discharge. I wear my contacts on average for about 10 hrs a day and always throw them out every 2 weeks. My eye doctor said that there was inflammation and gave me eye drops that i used two times a day, Sodium Chloride and Fluorometholone. He was not sure what it was. 2 weeks later (after using drops and trying to wear glasses a bit more) inflammation has lessened but not gone away. Now, my eye doctor is saying that he thinks my eyes are allergic to my Acuvue Oasys Hydraclear and is telling me to try a new kind of contacts and solution. I have worn these contacts and used OptiFree Solution for YEARS with no problems, so could this be true?

Dear Vamadrid,

I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the diagnosis.
