Blurred Vision, Dizzy at Times

I am a 33-year-old male who is experiencing sudden blurred vision and dizziness.  I just visited my eye doctor about a month ago and she stated that all looked well.  No serious problems to report.  There was a just slight change in my prescription glasses.  I have noticed only in the past week that I have had the above problems but it has me worried when I can't read what's in front of me.  Objects at a distance don't appear to irritate me but closeup objects are blurry.  Is it possible that the prescription is not correct or can it be something more serious that's developed in the past month?

Given your age and symptoms, one thing that comes to mind is a condition called accomodative spasm.  This is where the muscles used to help you focus up close continue to contract and this may cause blurred vision up close and at a distance for a short time.  This is more commonly seen in those people who are in school or those who do alot of reading.  It is also possible that your glasses may not be correct.  This is more likely the case if your symptoms did not start until after you received your glasses.  If dizziness is the prominent  symptom than I would recommend that you see your internist because this may be related to your inner ear or another problem.  I hope this has been helpful.
