I am blind on one eye NF2 tumor on optical nerve

Hello, i am personality having NF2. I have been in a wheelchair for 12 years and without knowing i had NF2 i loss totally vision on one of my eyes. I know what's going on and there is nothing doctors can do as they told  me from MRI result that i do have a tumor on top of my eye nerve and it's been a while(more than 5 years) it did get worse but i haven't seen any eye doctors in the past, so i had no idea about NF2 and that eye is getting worse and worse every year, i  won't hide, i am afraid to loss vision on my left eye, i do see a eye doctor and have an MRI and they told me if anything change on my left eye they will do something, my question is .. is there anything could be done that i can see on both of my eyes? nerve is dead complitely, the tumor is still there and seems like they won't do anything because there is nothing they can do, my  question is,, is this tumor can grow and cost me more problems to other parts of my body or not? i know i am a half blind but does this tumor have to me removed or not? i do have tumors in my brain and my ears, honestly, i am afraid to become blind . Any new information -bad news or no news i appricate to know them from others. Thanks. T

There is no treatment that will restore sight in the eye that is already blind.  If the tumor continues to grow along the optic nerve back towards the brain, you can lose vision in your other eye as well.  Unfortunately there is no really great treatment for this type of tumor.  You should seek care at a very high level cancer center such as Memorial Sloan Kettering in the US.  Do an on-line search to see if you can identify places where there is a specialist team working with patients who have neurofibromatosis and optic nerve tumors.
