Indication and time frame for membrane peel

I have CME of 2&1/2 year duration. It occurred post-vitrectomy for a floater, BUT I suspect is not related to inflammation at this point but rather traction from a detectable emp. All nsaids, steroids and avastin have failed to help.
I read on a website from a retina practice in central Florida that  if membrane peel has any chance of improving vision, it needs to be done within three years. So, you see I have just a few months to decide. I've seen three specialists with mixed recommendations. My vision is distorted, with a decreased image size, about 20/40 at distance but poor close up.

I don't think there are enough studies to give an exact guildline of say 3 years. kAlso its not likely that a few months one way or another is goinig to be that critical.
