Multipurpose solution for RGP contact lens?

Is it OK to use Multipurpose Solution for Softlens for the general cleaning of my Boston RGP contact lens too? For the soaking and disinfecting I do use the special solution just for RGP Lens.
I wear Softlens also and want to cut down on buying another multipurpose solution just for RGP and hard lens use. Why can't you use the Multipurpose Solution For Softlens on both type of lens? Will the RGP lens be ruined?
Appreciate your thoughts. I have to many solutions on the counter.

They are different type of solutons and the RGP tend to need more conditioners to keep the lenses comfortable.  I definitely wouldn't use the RGP solution on the soft lenses.  I'm not a RGP contact lens expert but I would recommend using the proper solution for each different lens.
