Nevus and headaches

by GirlinLA, Aug 07, 2008 03:20PM
I'm 34 years old and have always had very good vision.  After having frequent headaches, which I thought might be due to reading, I got checked for glasses.  I also tear alot while lying on either side and have blurred or fuzzy vision sometimes, though not often.  The optomitrist said I have 20/20 vision, but found a "choroidel nevus OS temporal to ONH about 0.75 DD is size" .  He is sending me to a retina specialist.  Online literature says nevi rarely become malignant, but in the meantime, my headaches are scaring me.  I don't know if it is psychosymatic, but I do feel pain in my left eye.  Could this be related?

The nevus is unrelated to your headaches.
0.75 disc diameter is quite small and very rarely a problem.  I see ones like that every day in my office.  We simply take a picture and recheck in 6 to 12 months depending on the size and characteristics.  The retinal specialist will reassure you.
