I just got new glasses. I can see distance fine but working on my computer is extremely difficult. Reading anything is actually extremely difficult. Distance is the only thing that is I don't have trouble with. With my old prescription distance wasn't strong enough but working on my computer and looking at the papers on my desk was perfect. When I read closeup, a book for example, I read better just holding the page closer and reading without glasses. I am looking for a suggestion for new glasses for just working on the computer.
New Prescription R: Sphere -5.00, Cylinder -0.50, Axis 145, Add 1.25 L: Sphere -5.50, Cylinder -1.00, Axis 164 +1.25
Old Prescription R: Sphere -4.75, Cylinder -0.50 Axis 165. + 1.00, L: Sphere -4.75, Cylinder -1.00, Axis 174 + 1.0
Depends on multiple factors including your age and preffered distances for computer work and reading. The prescribing doctor should be able to help you sort it out free of charge. It's part of what you should be getting when you get your prescription checked. They can calculate for computer distance based on how far you keep the screen from your face.
