My eye surgeon feels he is equally skilled at putting in either the AcrySof or the Array IOL in both of my eyes. I know that it gets sensitive stating one's preference in public, but it would be nice to hear some discussion(for general educational purposes) from a large eye center such as yours to address when one would be more practical over the other. Possibly, I should be including other IOL options too.
A recent study by the Storm Eye Institute in South Carolina with David J. Apple MD showed no significant difference in PCO from the acrylic vs that particular silicone.  Studies have shown the biggest factor at preventing PCO is the technique & cleanup of the surgeon himself! I don't want to be too hard on my surgeon but I don't want be so easy that I compromise the long term outcome either.

Some surgeons have quite a lot of esperience in implanting the array lens.  I am familiar with the article written by Dr. Apple.  If the concept of the array appeals to you and the surgeon is experience, it is reasonable to consider.  The incidence of complication if a laser needed to be performed for a PCO is low.  I presonally am implanting the acrysof lens and I love this lens.
