Toric lens re-alignment

Toric lens re-alignment

I have have had cataracts coupled with astigmatism for years.  My eye doctor suggested cataract surgery and insertion of a toric lens to correct the astigmatism.  The cataract removal went well - Vision clear in that respect, however I now suffer from double vision.  My surgeon says my IOL has shifted from perfect orientation (0 to 3 degrees) to 12 degrees from perfect.  His solution is to do the slits in the cornea or to "go back inside and rotate the lens back to optimum.  The original surgery was done September 29th, with todays date of December 6th.  My question is since the original surgery was done that long ago, would there be some other correction available?  Thank you for your assistance.

An LRI as he mentioned ("slits" in the cornea).  Reposition is still easy to do.
