injured eye

by pinkygogo32, Dec 18, 2008 02:50PM
yesterday when i was working i was holding a bunch of papers in my hand and some how i poked myself in my right eye with the corner of the papers, now it hurts really bad. I thought it was gonna go away after few minutes but it didn't and every time i close my eye it felt like something was poking inside and i kept having tears in my eyes. I couldn't sleep at night because i couldn't close my eyes it would hurt or if i did close it i couldn't open it. The next morning i got a little red and swollen , it wont open all the way and it keeps getting watery and blurry and still feels like its poking me every time i close my eye or try to blink. Is this something serious or is there eye drops i could use. Its kinda affecting my left eye too. It starts getting watery and blurry.

Dear pinkygogo32,

You suffered an injury to the eye and may have a corneal abrasion.  Abrasions following organic matter can result in recurrences once healed a few weeks later.  It sounds as if it has not healed and I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to obtain treatment.
