intraocular pressure

intraocular pressure

My father,75 yrs of age enjoys a good health except that he has been having serious eye problems He had a corneal surgery 2 yrs  back in his left eye but unfortunately following reject he had a regrafting 6 mths back. His vision has not been very good since and this has gone worse and he cannot see from this eye. The intraocular pressure was 41 some 3 wks back and was subsequently brought down  He is using eye drops but the pressure has again gone up and is not coming down.
He also just had a corneal grafting in the right eye 3 wks back. His vision now from the right eye is not clear.
I would like to know what should be done to bring the  pressure down. Secondly will the vision improve with time in the right eye or is there some other problem preventing him to see clearly?

Dear vines,

High intraocular pressure can cause damage to the optic nerve which transmits impulses from the retina to the brain, which is interpreted as sight.  Without a complete history and eye examination, it is difficult to assess the exact problem. I would recommend that your father seek an opinion of a corneal and glaucoma specialists to obtain the best treatments for his eye conditions.
