reigers syndrome

reigers syndrome

I suffer from Oligodontia (I have 7 upper and 8 lower teeth) and have been told that I have increased pressure in my eyes.  I am 41 years old.  My son also has oligodontia as well as two brothers and our deceased father.  What are the chances we have Reiger's syndrome?  Although my daughter (age 21)has all of her teeth, she has VERY poor  eyesight and even recently had uveitis.  How can this syndrome be tested for and is it worth it?  Thank you.

I thing the chances are very significant that Reiger's syndrome could be present.  The actual eye exam with an Ophthalmologist should help to determine if you have Reiger's syndrome which can be associated with glaucoma.  It is extremely important to have you eyes tested for glaucoma because it is a serious eye disease that can be treated very well.  That's the main issue here as I see it.
