Nocturnal problem
Hello,
every morning I have a problem and I don't know if it is caused by GERD or a strange form of allergy.

Every morning I wake up with:
- heartburn (there is a precise point in the stomach that hurts) without reflux
- stuffy nose (I'm ok after 5 minutes that are standing).
- itchy eyes and locked eyes (I can't move my eyes)
- mucus in the throat

This situation is limited to the bed time.
I see a huge improvement if I take vitamin C or if I sleep with upper body elevated.
If it is a GERD problem, why it also affects the eyes?

Hi, the heart burn if it occurs with sleeping and is relieved by standing, its most likely due to GERD. And this does not cause itching of the eyes. If there is itching and watering, the eye symptoms can be due to an allergen. Allergens include pollen, mold, dust and pet dander. You will need to consult your primary care physician for further evaluation. Regards.
