Salivation

I recently had an upper endoscopy to rule out GERD.  My doctor found H pylori and treated me with antibiotics for 7 days and on the next consultation she told me everything was fine.  I noticed that after the treatment I have been salivating a lot and no other symptoms have been noticed.  Sometimes it gets so bad that when I speak I spit saliva and it is very embarrassing.  

I don't know if it is important to mention, but I was given Zofran for prevention of nausea and vomiting in anticipation of an MRI of the breast with contrast (because the contrast makes me throw up).

Can could be the cause of this increased salivation and how can I address it?

Hi Cray,

Welcome. From what I read on Zofran it did not list salivating as a side effect.

Everyone does however react to meds differently and u can have a reaction that is no textbook.

Sorry I am not able to help u there, but if u ask a pharmacist they have a better idea of effects drugs can have.Also, u did not mention the antibiotic u had for the H.pilori...maybe it was a combo of both that caused the reaction u had.
