Why do I have a chronic cough?

Back in 2002 I was told by a allergist that I have allergies.  I am mostly sensitive to mold.  I took shots for about 3 years but they did not lessen my symptoms.  I rarely have runny eyes or runny nose.  I occasionaly sneeze and I have a terrible chronic cough.  Sometimes I cough for several minutes and then I may go several hours without coughing.  I cough more when I am inside.  I was tested for acid reflux but it not proven that I had it. I was also checked for a hiatal hernia.  The results were borderline.  Most of the coughing seems to come from post nasal drip.  I have tried several RX drugs for the cough and post nasal drip but I hate to constantly take these antihistamines.  What do you suggest?  Can all of this coughing cause me problems down the road.  I am 65.

HI ...if ur reflux is due to the post nasal drip u may want to try a netti pot to help clear ur nasal passages.
