Albumin level

I have an albumin level of 2.9 -- does that indicate liver problems or could there be another problem?

Hi there:

I'm so sorry you are suffering.  Please visit this link to learn about albumin:
http://labtestsonline.org/understanding/analytes/albumin/test.html.  There are tabs there that are kind of difficult to see, titled: "At a Glance", "Test Samples", etc.

Lab Tests Online explains what all the numbers mean in detail and it really dumbs it down for people like me who don't know anything about medical terms.  It's my personal favorite and it really covers everything.

Here are a bunch of links that might help you understand what liver functions are all about and possible causes of elevated numbers:

http://www.medicinenet.com/liver_blood_tests/page2.htm
http://www.liverdisease.com/liverenzymes_hepatitis.html

I sincerely hope this helps you.  Please let me know if you need any other information and I'll do my best to dig it up.  I don't log on very often because I'm seriously ill but you can always email me.  I hope you'll post to let everyone know how you are doing.

God bless, Godspeed and good luck!

All the best,

Sam
