We have now seen a gastroentologist who got a bowel specimen and had her increase her fiber intake while we waited for the scope. After 3 days she absolutely refused to keep on doing it because it caused her pain to be worse. It also made her very gassy and caused almost constant diarrhea. When he did the scope he found bile in her stomach and some minor scarring. He had her start taking Priloces and ordered an ultrasound and a nuclearNuclear ventriculography scan of her gallbladder. All tests came back normalNormal saline flush so he ordered some additional bloodwork and we followed up with him a couple of weeks ago. He said the bloodwork came back fine and has decided she has IBS. I am wondering if there are any other options since she never really had a problem with her bowels (until the increase in fiber), just pain in her abdominal area.
Now he has told her to decrease her carbs and lose some weight. She is only slightly overweight which is cause by the AbilifyAbilify Abilify discmelt she is taking. She doesn't eat much as it is because she said it upsets her stomach. I'm at a loss as to how he came up with the diagnosis and am wondering if there is something else that would cause her to have bile in her stomach? The Prilosec is helping some, but she still has days that her stomach hurts.
