I've been having issues for about 6 months off and on but for the last 2-3 its been constant I finally gave in a couple months ago and went and seen my dr. I've been having really bad upper right quadrant pain anytime I eat anything and nausea and vomiting some heart burn
and diarrhea. He did a bunch of blood work which came back normal has sent me to have and ultrasound done thinking it was my gallbladder that was fine has sent me to have and EGD they only thing they found with that yesterday was some irritation in my lower esophagas and the GI doc doesn't believe thats whats causing my problems he believes it my gallbladder so he is sending to have and disida scan in a little less than 2 weeks. I'm to the point the only thing I can eat or drink with out throwing up or being in severe pain is water gatorade and some popsicles. What should I expect with the scan and is there anything I can do to help ease the pain and vomiting?
Are you talking about a Hida Scan? If so, I had one last August. It can take up to 2 hours for the test. They first inject you with dye to see how your gallbladder is emptying, then they do a CCK injection, which could cause you pain. If your ejection fraction rate is less then 35, then your gallbladder is bad. My test was not painful
, but it can be for others. Has your GI doc given you anything for the pain and vomiting? If not, then ask him for something. Mine was not my gallbladder, but something more detailed. It sounds like your gallbladder to me. Good luck.
