Gastritis and Protonix

I wasn't sure where to post this but thought this was a good place being as it has to due with my gastritis.

Ok, so after having gone through pretty much hell from July to the end of September, my GI finally officially diagnosed me as having severe gastritis and prescribed me Protonix 40mg, twice a day for 6 months. I was given the Rx for Protonix due to the fact that the Prilosec did nothing for me and gave me muscle aches throughout my entire body. After being on the Protonix, as prescribed, for a month I'm already feeling a ton better but now I have a new problem: my insurance company is refusing to fill my prescription stating that I've gone over my 90 day limit. A one month supply of Protonix was 60 pills and the Rx for Prilosec in August was for 30 pills so they've determined that I've hit my limit for that drug class. Now that I'm finally feeling better I'm being cut off from the med that's actually helped me!!! My doctor has sent in a PA (Prior Authorization) to the insurance company in hopes that they will approve the PA and renew my Rx as he's prescribed it.

I guess my questions here are whether anyone else has had this problem with PPIs and their insurance company and whether or not other people have had to go through a PA and whether it's been accepted?

I don't know what I'm going to do if my PA is rejected. There's no way I can pay $300/month for these pills and they are the only things that have helped me. I don't want to go back to feeling the way I was.  :(  Any suggestions on what I can do for myself, to keep my stomach healing, if I cannot get back on the Protonix?
