Gastroesophageal reflux Disease

I have this problem of Gastroesophageal reflux disease for the last many years. Alongwith burning sensation in the chest, I also have short breathing a sometimes very profuse sweating on my forehead. Initially the problem was once in a week or two weeks, but recently the frequency has increased to 3/4 times a week. I am a moderate smoker, but my Diet is quite simple  I have been regularly taking antacids on empty stomach in the morning, which helped me for a couple of months, but recently the problem has increased. Please advise me can the symptoms of sweating & short breathing does have connection to this problem or should I see a Cardiologist ?.

Thanks & Best Regards

Welcome to the gastroenterology community!  GERD can cause shortness of breath.  Smoking can also increase the problems of GERD.  Are you following a GERD-friendly diet?  Have you ever been on a PPI?
