Gastroschisis Repair.......Scar Tissue Pain

My son was born with gastroschisis and was repaired at birth. It was a large amount pertruding and it took three surgeries and 3 months in NICU to repair him. He is now 7 and his health is fabulous: however, now that he has grown, and his scar has grown and stretched with him, he says that the tissue in the center of a 10+ inch scar stretching from the bottom of his belly to his chest hurts when he stretches. It feels very tight and I'm just wondering bfore I seek a referral to Gastro from his pediatrician if further surgery could be done to reduce the scar tissue and prevent further pain?
