Heart Palpitations/Breathing Problems

by benrico, Aug 18, 2009 12:22AM
The number one cause of my heart palpitations is CAFFEINE: too much coffee and Coke!! I cut these off and my heart beats almost  perfectly. But this summer I drank 1 and 1/2 cups per day of McDonald's regular coffee for about two weeks straight. Well, I soon developed the palpitations that did not let up for about 10 days straight. What a nightmare! They subsided only to begin an episode of breathing problems which my PA could not pinpoint the source. He's going to refer me to my heart doctor, but thank God the breathing problem is back to normal. I truely believe that the heart palps threw my heart off rhythm and had something to do with the breathing. I wasn't gasping for air, but I just felt like my body wasn't getting the oxygen it needed. And it did register 96% when tested. They would also hit me in the middle of the night where I would have to get out of bed and occupy myself with something like reading. Has anyone else esperienced this or something similar?
