Help! What to do? My boyfriend has aweful diarreha!

My boyfriend 36 year old has been experiencing aweful watery painful diarreha. About a week ago he ate we thought he ate something bad at a resturant, but now his symptoms are back and he even threw up a few times. Hes going to the bathroom every half hour it seems like and we arnt sure to get him an anti-diarreha medication over the counter at Walgreens? What should we do, he doesnt have insurance so we are trying to home remedy it as much as possible. We were thinking it could be IBS??

He needs to see a doctor, this is not food poisoning and he will become dehydrated very quickly which is very serious.  Go to an Urgent Care where they are less expensive and have him drink Gatorade, orange juice and eat bananas to replenish his electrolytes.  Best wishes.
