I have been having occasional extreme sharp pain in my sternumSternum - view of the outside (anterior) as well as tenderness under my right ribRib cage pain cage similar to pains I felt when I had a bowel obstruction a few years back caused by scar tissue. I had an X-ray which was negative and then a CT with contrast which I just learned also came back negative. Idon't know what is wrong with me, but I know that something is not right. I have been experiencing... bloating and pressurePressure ulcer, occasion severe pain in sternumSternum - view of the outside (anterior) that is occompanied by nausea, though I don't actually throw up anything but bile and a littleLittle noses decongestant Little tummys food (it is not like normalNormal saline flush vomiting, but more like a little bit in my mouth 5-10 times...), gurgling and I've beem very gassy. Over-all uncomfortable... I have had two bowel obstructions in the past, the first (11/04) was caused by scar tissue from a previous srugery that was slowly growing around the intestines and restricting them. My pain started a few months before they actually figured out the problem and was originally diagnosed as an ulcer This was surgically repaired. The second (12/07) was when my instestine actually twisted and were pinched off completely. When they went in to surgically repair the second obstruction they found and removed additional scar tissue that had formed since the first obstruction.
I really thought my symptoms were from yet another bout of scar tissue, but the CT was negative. I wonder if it could be because the first two were trips to the emergency room where food had actually built up pretty bad, where as the prep for my CT had me only on clear fluids therefore things were passing (I think it is a restriction, not a complete obstruction.) Could this be the case, or could there be something else causing these symptoms? I feel so lost, please help!
