Hi everyone! I just wanted to let you know the latest. Just to give an update, for the last few months I had been having stomach pains. Three years ago when I had an appendectomy
, they did an CAT Scan and found a shadow in my small intestine that they wanted to keep an eye on. For a year it didn't grow, so we thought it was nothing. A couple of weeks ago, I had another one done and it showed this mass had grown a little. My surgeon that took out my appendex three years ago, wanted to take this mass out and get it biopsied to see what it was. We were unable to get to it through a colonoscopy.
I had the surgery last week and pathology said it was a fibrous
scar tissue with and ulcer nearby that looked like a classic Chrohn's disease. I am going to see a gastroenterologist in a couple of weeks after I'm healed up from surgery to look into this deeper.
I really know nothing about Chrohn's disease, so if anybody knows anything, I'd love to hear from you. Someone told me to get tested for Celiac as well. I guess this is something I will have to deal with the rest of my life. I'm wondering how much I'll have to change my diet, etc.
At least I have an answer! I'll let you all know more as I learn more.
Take care all.
