Nissen Fundoplication Complications Post-Op

Nissen Fundoplication Complications Post-Op

I had the procedure done on the 14th of June this year.  The recovery was quick and I was back to work in exactly one week.  Two weeks post-op, I started having mild heartburn, which progressively got worse.  It got so bad that there have been several nights that the burning in my throat and pain in my chest kept me awake all night!  I called my surgeon to see if there was something that I should or should not be doing, and the nurse I talked with, gave me a bit of an attitude saying, "this wasn't suppose to be possible after a Nissen"!  No kidding, that's why I opted for the surgery in the first place. I've been eating a fairly soft and somewhat bland diet, so I know that isn't the problem, in fact, it doesn't matter what I eat, I still get excrutiating heartburn. I got through antacids several times a day, but try not to exceed their daily recommended dosage.  I need relief!  Any suggestions?
