1. I have been taking PrilosecPrilosec Prilosec otc for about 6 months now and I cannot tell you if this will cause too much Gastrin. My GI doctor told me if it helps to stay on it.
2. I am taking it for this long as I have had some nausea and all tests showed that I have absolutely nothing wrong with me - yet when I go off Prilosec it comes back; when I stay on it I'm pretty much ok. Doctor said stay on it.
3. I don't know.
4. There are other meds such as Prevacid, etc. but it's still an antacid. Sometimes a blander diet can help with acid. Lots of water. I also take a probiotic - it doesn't say this helps for acid but they are for stomach concerns. Perhaps worth looking into.
