Pain in left side

I to have pain in my left side under my rib cage and goes to the back. I am bloated and gassy alot. I also about a month ago started having pain on my right side in the appendix area. I do not have pain in the gallbladder area. Though I do have a gallstone my dr recommended getting gallbladder removed. After seeing the surgeon he did not think my pain was caused by the gallstone. I do take a lot of medicine and am on medicine for panik attacks. I have diabetes, and High BP. I see that other people have had the pain under the left ribcage and in the left arm as well. Has anyone come up with a cure for this?
When I was on vacation last year the pain went away but when I came home and went back to work about a week later I started getting the pain again.
Could it just be stress or something else. I hope someone knows the answer.
