Pale yellow stools

by legolady, Mar 27, 2009 03:44AM
I was diagnosed with colon cancer last April and had a lower anterior resection in June. I have a colostomy now as well. I have been in remission for nearly six months and recently I have been having yellow stools everytime I have a bowel movement. What can this mean , could the cancer be back? Please advise.

Yellow waste usually may indicate you have a little infection going on in the intestinal tract.  So, I think your doc should check you out, drawing blood, taking a stool sample, checking out where the colostomy is, and so forth.  I do not think you need to worry about the cancer having returned because of your symptom.
