Sleeping problems\ unusual
Hello,

I am a 21 year old male who is not overweight. I have had GERD, IBS and slight atrophic gastritis for about 5 years.

During the last week I have not been able to sleep properly, in that when I lie down, I gradually lose strenght in my left hand, my chest and fingers hurt and I get hungry for air. There are also some adrenaline rushes which are very annoying.

I have recently started taking omeprazole again, and going for a run after dinner. I have scoliosis but the back doctor said it is not of any clinical significance.

Thanks!

Hi there!

Well, without a detailed clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include medication side effect, causes related to the respiratory tract, cardiovascular causes, GERD, stress/ anxiety, hormonal/ endocrine abnormalities, neuromuscular causes such as nerve compression/ impingement etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
